Siddhanth, a legal show, is a weekly on Star One about a lawyer Siddhanth who fights for justice. The episode that aired on August 9th 2005 revolved around Siddhanth’s attempt to battle the stigma and discrimination associated with HIV & AIDS. The story begins with Payal, a student, who is thrown out of college when they discover she is HIV positive and terminally ill. While she does manage to get back into college, she is forced to face discrimination at every level. She then approaches Siddhanth to win back her rights and realize her dream of completing graduation.

High on content, drama and realism, Siddhanth, a fictional, episodic weekly aired on Star One, is the story of a young, successful lawyer whose only criteria for accepting a case is his client’s innocence. Clear about his targets in life and one who follows the voice of conscience, he goes to any length to ensure that his clients get justice.

The Story…
The social stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS rears its head, but Siddhanth is not going to allow it. It begins when a student is thrown out of college when they discover she is HIV +ve and terminally ill. While she does manage to get back into college, she is forced to face discrimination at every level in an effort to make her throw in the towel. She then approaches Siddhanth to win back her rights and realize her dream of completing graduation. They are joined by her professor, but are fighting with their backs to the wall.
