CRICKETFORINDIA.COM
An interactive Cricket website with a difference!
Launched in Mumbai on 25th June 2004, on the 21st anniversary of India's 1983 World Cup win, ‘www.cricketforindia.com’ is India's first website devoted to CRICKET COACHING. It is India's first ‘interactive’ cricket coaching website.
Cricketforindia.com is endorsed by BCCI, Sunil Gavaskar, Polly Umrigar, and Rahul Dravid.
The site is home to interesting and informative articles by stalwarts who have excelled at the highest level of the game. The list of contributors reads like a veritable Indian team. It comprises superstar VVS Laxman, former India skipper Polly Umrigar, former India Test cricketers Ashok Mankad, Yajurvindra Singh, Karsan Ghavri and Praveen Amre, former international umpire Piloo Reporter, cricket coach S.P. Bhatia and fitness experts Dr. Aijaz Ashai and Dr. Hima Dalal. Veteran cricket statistician Anant Gaundalkar is also a contributor on the website.
The cricketing personalities apart, the site also boasts of a talented panel of cricket writers that includes Devendra Prabhudesai, author of a best-selling biography of Rahul Dravid titled ‘The Nice Guy Who Finished First’, and journalists Renin Wilben and Sreelata Yellamrazu.
A significant attraction of the site is a CRICKET-LOVERS COMMUNITY, whose membership is growing by the day.
The objective of this ‘community’ is to bring together like-minded individuals to discuss and learn the varied aspects of their favourite sport. Users of the site will soon have the opportunity to avail of a comprehensive coaching manual that will educate and inform cricket-lovers in the facets of batting, bowling, fielding and fitness, to name just a few.
Cricketforindia.com thus provides cricket enthusiasts an opportunity to learn their favourite game by simply logging on to its different pages! Indeed, one of the site's objectives is to prove that the keyboard, mouse and monitor can be as mighty as the playground!
Cricketforindia.com is also home to a variety of interesting sections that spotlight Great Cricketers, Unforgettable Feats & Events, Quizzes and the Laws of the Sport.
