Sanjeevani
Sanjeevani was a medical show on Star Plus that ran during prime time for about 3 years (it concluded in May 2005). HIV/AIDS message integration was done through the trials and tribulations that Dr. Omi, one of the protagonists, had to go through when he got infected and his status became known in the hospital. His story, spread as a sub narrative over 7-8 episodes, dealt with his rights about disclosure of status and employment as well as discrimination in the workplace. The story ended positively with a message of hope – the hospital did not fire him as also Dr. Omi found his love interest.
